What is Customer Onboarding?

Customer Onboarding is a high touch sales driven onboarding experience for a customer. 

 

What is customer onboarding, also known as client onboarding, enterprise onboarding, or white glove onboarding? It is a high touch sales driven onboarding experience for a customer. 


It's called customer onboarding because the product is sold upfront, based on a promise. So the customer purchases and then goes through some sort of a playbook or white glove experience, to then experience the promise delivered on that initial payment. At that time, they decide, “Great! This is exactly what I was expecting”, or not - and they churn if it isn’t what they were expecting.
